Starry Kitchen

After taking a far too long two-week hiatus from Starry Kitchen, my co-worker and I were happy to see our highly offensive, extremely energetic, ball-loving, ever so passionate about his (wife’s) food, friend.  If you don’t know who I am referring to, you should make a point of visiting Starry soon.  Look for the guy up front taking orders, standing next to the hole in the wall, which was kicked by said restaurant owner in one of his furies of excitement.

One of our favorite lunch hour haunts, Starry provides pan-asian comfort food that packs a ton of flavor and creative menu items.

More, after the jump.

Lunch-goers can choose  from the Taiwanese pork chop (an ATS favorite), spicy “crack” Krab cakes, lemon grass chicken or beer, pineapple, and chicken wing soup.  You have the option of having your protein in a salad, wrap, or bahn mi sandwich.  For all those non meat–eaters out there, Starry provides a vegetarian (often vegan) option as well.  Our favorite: crispy tofu balls (they’re green!).  BEWARE – they change their menu items every two weeks, which adds just the right amount of excitement to your work day.  A good menu week at Starry can be a real game-changer.

Today we both went with the Nebraska Angus Japanese meatball curry over rice with Korean glass noodles and spicy Vietnamese salad.  Very delicious!

(Please excuse the to-go boxes. We wanted to sit in the sun)

Lunch here will set you back around $8-$12, but there are free re-fills on fountain drinks and an unlimited supply of Sriracha, which is always a plus.  Not to mention, the entertainment (described above) is free of charge.

Starry Kitchen is located in California Plaza.  Validation is provided if you park in the building’s garage!

Glad to hear they have vegetarian options. Sound delicious. My only question is: Do they have Coke Zero? Because that makes or breaks a restaurant in my opinion.

  2. Coke and Diet Coke only. Nary.

Darn. One day Coke Zero will flow freely like water. Until then, I guess I can survive with Diet Coke.

Looks and sounds incredible! But I highly recommend an ALS roadtrip to the downtown culinary delights of Boston!
